A typical day… what should you expect when you join one of our courses?

Full Day Itinerary

A full day course at Ashdown Manna Cookery School begins at 9.45am with a warm welcome, an informal tea or coffee, some home made biscuits and an opportunity to meet your fellow students. There is ample free parking at the school and a map with directions would have been sent to you a few days prior to your course.

At 10am we will move into the kitchen where you will be introduced to your professional chef, given an apron for the day and laminated recipe cards for you to take home. There will then be an introduction from our chef, who will explain the format of the day, dishes to be made and a short Health and Safety briefing. During the morning your professional chef will guide you through a selection of dishes that you will sit down and enjoy for lunch with a glass of wine at approximately 1pm.

All our courses are hands on and each dish will be demonstrated first by our chef, before being replicated by the group.
Some dishes you will make on your own, some in pairs and some as a ‘team’. You will also have a kitchen assistant on hand, to assist you and wash up. After lunch, you will return to the kitchen and make a delicious dish for two to take home (plus any food left over from lunchtime!). Full day courses normally finish around 4pm.

Full day classes sizes vary from 8-10 people and are open to anyone over the age of 18
